Canadians caught in drug crackdown, not job scam Hey, I leave Korea for a minute and my friends are in jail! Hey, I've been in Canada since Friday and it's going great. Except for one small thing... It's snowing like crazy here and it's -6 degrees! Way to reinforce those Canadian stereotypes to my Korean students. Tuesday, October 21, 2003

So we found out today that we have to move apartments. We've known since we started the job that we would have to move, but now we have the details. We were luckily given more than the usual Korean notice about everything (1-2 days). They did tell us, however that we have to move on October 24th! Yes, that's right, the same day we are leaving for Canada. How we are going to pull that off I'm not sure. I think it's the stupidest thing they could have done, but Barb doesn't seem to think there's a problem. Let's hope she's right. I hate moving so much. In university I had to move to and from rez every year. I can't wait to own my own house and be able to go more than a year without moving. Thursday, October 02, 2003
Sorry for not blogging in so long, really I am. But I bear good news. On Friday, October 24 at 4:20pm We will arrive in Calgary. That's right, We're coming home! Not permanently of course, but for a week-long vacation. The original plan was to come back for Christmas. We arrived in Korea on December 10, however, and our return tickets cannot be extended past one year. And since Christmas break doesn't happen until December 24th at our school, that's a bit of a problem. We do have a term break from October 28 to November 3 however. And the last day of the term is a Monday (Oct 27). We begged and pleaded and after one rejection we were given the Monday off to lengthen our vacation. I can't wait to come home even if it's only for a week. Woo hoo! |
